“Audrey”
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
Oil on canvas, 16 x 20 inch (40,5 x 50,5cm)
Portrait of a famous British actress Audrey Kathleen Ruston, more known as Audrey Hepburn (1929 – 1993).
Painting is based on her slightly less known photograph taken in 1961 as a part of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Hollywood movie release.
I chose to paint this portrait purely from a stunning black and white photograph strongly influenced by my artistic backgrounds and also, the National Gallery’s latest exhibition “Painting in Monochrome” visited in London in February
2018.
Painted in March 2018.
New digital edit done in 2019.
